ABOUT JEFFERY

Born and raised in Western Palm Beach County, Jeffery graduated from Pahokee Jr./Sr. High School. He is a decorated Marine Corps veteran who served the country at the highest level with honor and pride. He attended several institutions of higher learning and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Over the course of his career, Mr. Jackson received multiple commendations. However, prior to his retirement from the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office, after completing 35 years of distinguished service, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and the PBSO executive staff presented Captain Jeffery Jackson with the Legion of Merit Award, one of the highest honors bestowed upon distinguished law enforcement personnel.
 
In recent years he received recognition from the Riviera Beach Youth Recreation Association, Federation of Families Florida Inc., Inner City Youth Golfers, Inc., and SHE Holdings “Project 12” honoree for leadership and community service to name a few.


SERVING HIS COMMUNITY

Currently, he serves as one of Palm Beach County, elected officials by serving as Chair of the Thousand Oaks Community Development District. Mr. Jackson has served in this capacity since 2005, at the inception of the district during turnover to the homeowners.
 
He also serves as Director of the Thousand Oaks Home Owners Association, Chair of the Riviera Beach Penny Surcharge Committee and Executive Board Member on the City of Riviera Beach C.R.A. Community Development Council. Mr. Jackson is also a member of the Thurgood Marshall Masonic League #121, Palm Beach Sports Commission and Executive Board Member of the Tabernacle Learning Center.
 
While serving as Chair of the Riviera Beach Housing Authority, Mr. Jackson and his team of commissioners reimagined a 14 acre parcel of land in Riviera Beach, and developed Heron Estates, a forty-six million dollar project created to provide affordable housing for seniors, veterans and low to mid income families. The project and services provided earned the team the 2021, “Best Housing Authority Award” small agency. With affordable housing being one the nation’s biggest problems, Mr. Jackson and his team of commissioners are currently working to provide affordable and workforce housing with active initiatives in four cities across Palm Beach County.

VOLUNTEERING & SUPPORT

In his spare time he enjoys coaching youth sports, mentoring, performing community services activities (particularly those initiatives that target youth and seniors) and attending sporting events.
 
Jeffery Jackson is a supporter of veterans, law enforcement and first responders, teachers, seniors and youth empowerment through higher education and youth services. Speaking of youth services, Mr. Jackson has a proven record of supporting youth and families throughout Palm Beach County. Two of the Non-Profit Organization Boards that he served on have provided scholarship funds to teens throughout the county that exceeds four million dollars over the past 30 years.
 
In 2000, he joined Federation of Families Florida Inc., an organization geared toward supporting at risk youth and families with mental illness. In this role, Mr. Jackson has served as chair and currently vice-chair as the board of directors are credited with lobbying at the local, state and national level while operating service facilities throughout Palm Beach County.


FAMILY VALUES

Commissioner Jackson is married to his wife of 32 years, Charlayne Flint Jackson. He is the proud father of five adult children and a dedicated grandfather to seven little ones. He is a man of faith who believes in servant leadership, personal accountability, education and the spirit of paying it forward.
